Very Positive Half-year Result
Take-up of office premises in the Düsseldorf market (municipal area + periphery) in the first half totalled 228,000 m². That was the best performance of all time, exceeding the prior-year figure by more than 11% and the 10-year average by nearly 24 %. The increase within the municipal boundaries was particularly marked, with a year-on-year rise of close to 22 %, producing a new first-half record of 209,000 m². On the periphery, in contrast, take-up actually declined by a notable 42 % to 19,000 m², which is below the multi-year average. The very good overall result was fuelled by a major deal for premises of 27,600 m² in the Medienhafen precinct concluded by Uniper and also by several deals in the mid-range size classes. The Medienhafen office market zone consequently secured the large slice of take-up (almost 21 %). It was followed by the CBD / Banking District (nearly 9 %).
