Leasing volumes fall in Q4 after spike in Q3
  • In the final quarter of 2020, rental transaction volumes fell by 11.7% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to 23,823. However, this was still 15.1% higher than the same period in 2019, which may be due to more people returning to Singapore and thus the need to source short to mid-term accommodation.
  • Out of the top five non-landed projects with the most leasing transactions, the top three developments are located in Core Central Region (CCR), with most of these transactions for smaller units (one- and two-bedrooms).
  • Although leasing volumes contracted QoQ, private residential rents remained largely stable, with the URA rental index for all private residential properties inching up slightly by 0.1% QoQ in Q4/2020, reversing two consecutive quarters of decline.
